Pictures Of Incredible Street Art Coming To Life

Performance, and graffiti-style illustration come together for a show worth seeing.

Robin Rhode, a Johannesburg native, combines illustration and performance art to create visual narratives on the blank sides of buildings. According to My Modern Met, Rhode’s newest exhibition went up yesterday, Jan. 10 at the Lehmann Maupin Galleries in a two-part exhibition. One gallery will feature a new series of his street-based photographs while the other will house an educational wall drawing intervention he’s conducting with Time In, a local outreach program specializing in arts education for underprivileged school children.

The exhibitions are called Take Your Mind Off the Streets at 540 West and 26th Street and Parie Pictus at 201 Chrystie Street.
