Cook with Peter: French Toast
Make weekends memorable for your family and friends with this classic breakfast recipe!
Ingredients:
Plain Challah (egg bread)
2-4 eggs, depending on number of slices desired
Cup of milk or more depending on number of slices.
Pure maple syrup
Vegetable oil or butter for pan
Strawberries or other berries as desired
To Make:
Prepare egg mixture by adding eggs to a bowl together with milk (mixture should not be too milky).
Mix eggs and milk with a fork.
Cut Challah bread into medium slices.
Heat pan with vegetable oil or butter.
When pan is hot, quickly dip bread into egg mixture first on one side and then the other — do not soak.
Add to pan. Â Cook on both sides until golden brown.
Repeat with more slices. (Make more than you think — they will go quickly!)
If desired, decorate with strawberries, confectioner’s sugar and pure maple syrup.
