When Alyssa was 5 months old, she was diagnosed with a genetic disease called Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA). At the time of the diagnosis, the doctors told my parents I wouldn’t live past the age of 2. Today, Alyssa is a 22-year-old college graduate from Bryant University dedicated to raising awareness about SMA and inspiring others to overcome life's obstacles.
